Procedure for Getting a Filling

Getting a filling is a common procedure and is often done in just one visit to the dentist. The dentist will first numb the area surrounding the tooth with a local anesthetic. Then, we will remove the decayed portion of the tooth and clean the area of any debris before filling the missing structure with composite resin or another restoration material. 

This restores the tooth to its original shape and protects it from further damage. You may need to have a crown placed over the tooth if the damage is too extensive.
